Adam Selman Sport - "Core" Cami + "Hi-Rise" Leggings

Adam Selman Sport, the Brand:

Best known as a favorite of Rihanna, designer Adam Selman helmed his eponymous label and a sportswear line, though as of 2022 is working full time on Rihanna's Savage X Fenty Sportswear range. While in production, Adam Selman Sport was bold and colorful, with a nod to the high camp of '80s. For those who are late to the party, you may still join in and find the collection at mainstream online retailers before it sells out.

The "Core" Cami + "Hi-Rise" Leggings Set:

To be honest, I bought the set when I did not know much about Adam Selman Sport. This name popped up from retailers which usually had a good mix of high street and boutique labels, and I thought I'd give it a try. It was not until later that I realized this black activewear set was the most conservative thing the brand had on offer, and practically everything else required much attitude to pull off, not to mention could be sheer in unexpected places.

With that said, you don't have to be Rihanna to wear Adam Selman. If you like the unique print, the "Core" cami and "Hi-Rise" leggings do not disappoint where support and function are concerned. Particularly, if you like a non-padded sports bra, the "Core" cami fits the bill; the fit is snug but there is room if you want to wear a strapless bra underneath, like I do here. The sports bra and the leggings are over US$100 each, which is pricy, but since the brand is stocked by major retailers, there is a good chance that you may pick this up on a holiday discount.

SMusicHDance Checklist:

• Padding for sports bra: No padding, with no room for inserts

• Sports bra straps: Adjustable racer back

• Legging rise: High-rise, with wide waistband

• Legging length: Full length

• Pockets on leggings: No

• Support level: The sport bra is not padded so I do not recommend it for running or high-intensity workouts. It's good for weight training and yoga. The leggings are squat-proof and not see-through. Sweat wicking.

• Comfort level: I like the set for working out but would not recommend it for lounging around.

• Fit: True to size. I wear a Sz Small for the top and Sz Medium for the bottom.

Buying Online:

With the designer closing down the line, Adam Selman Sport is no longer sold on its own site, but you may still find the collection at a number of online retailers. The "Core" cami is available at Revolve in blue (but the leggings are already sold out). Revolve is based in the US and one of the easiest places to shop and return, for international locations as well. It offers free shipping for orders over US$100 to a number of destinations including Hong Kong. The return policy is generous--returns are accepted within 60 days and return shipping may also be free, depending on your location.
