SuiTangTang, the Brand:

SuiTangTang is the namesake high-street label by Taiwanese model-turned-actress Sonia Sui Tang. In this comprehensive clothing range, it is the activewear that steals the show, in my opinion. Whereas the ready-to-wear can be cutesy and colorful, the activewear is all classic black, white, and tan. The sports bra I have on feels like a cropped version of a little black dress--the straps in contrasting white form a crisscross, and the back is all mesh. Despite the delicate setup, the sports bra works exactly as intended, and has been in heavy rotation for years since 2019.

L'urv Activewear, The Brand:

Founded in Australia and originally named L'urv Sportswear, the company went through a rebrand during Covid and is now called L'urv Activewear. Like many Australian activewear labels reviewed on SMusicHDance, L'urv Activewear has good basics in your trusty black and white, but also imaginative prints to cater to those with more adventurous tastes. I have both styles and they work equally well.

The "Maverick" Leggings:

The "Maverick" leggings are from the pre-Covid era of L'urv Sportswear. If you want to branch out from black leggings, olive green is one way to start. The design also took inspiration from actual sportswear and the details on the lower half are meant to look like the knee-high socks worn by American football players.

SMusicHDance Checklist:

  • Padding for sports bra: Yes, removable (comes with inserts)

  • Sports bra straps: Non-adjustable, with crisscross back

  • Legging rise: Mid-rise, wide waistband

  • Legging length: Full length

  • Pockets on leggings: No

  • Support level: Good for running and gym workout. The leggings are squat-proof and not see-through. Sweat wicking.

  • Comfort level: I love this set for working out but would not recommend it for lounging around.

  • Fit: True to size for both. For the sports bra, SuiTangTang's size guide, which is based on regular bra size, shows I should be Sz Medium, so Sz Medium is what I got and it fits perfectly. For the leggings, based on L'urv Activewear's size guide, I should be Sz Medium (US6 / UK10 / AU10 / EU38), and Sz Medium is indeed the right fit.

Please bear in mind that the US size refers to activewear size, not regular clothes. Speaking from experience, I find North American activewear sizing to run much smaller compared to that of regular clothes. A good benchmark for US activewear sizing is Lululemon, which makes activewear sized 0-20. The size you wear in Lululemon is your US size.

Buying Online:

SuiTangTang activewear is available through the brand's own site and ships internationally.

L'urv Activewear is available through the brand's own site and ships internationally at a flat rate of $25 (rates for Australia and New Zealand differ). Returns for full-price items are accepted within 14 days of receipt, after deducting return shipping costs. Sale items are eligible for online store credit, good for up to 3 years. The above terms are applicable at the time of this writing and you may refer to the brand's website for any update.

The SuiTangTang sports bra and L'urv Activewear's "Maverick" leggings came out in 2019 and are no longer available. For your consideration, I have linked below my suggestions for the current season. *This is not a sponsored post. I acquired the products on my own and receive no compensation for any purchases made via the links.
